On Dec. 15, she will depart San Juan on a seven-day Caribbean voyage with her first stop in Tortola, British Virgin Islands. Norwegian Viva is the newest vessel of Norwegian Cruise Line (NCL), and the second ship in its award-winning Prima Class. Following its debut this past August and its inaugural summer season of European voyages, the ship hosted over 1,500 guests at the ceremony held in the Company’s LEED® Gold Certified terminal at PortMiami. There’s still a lot to be announced for the ship, but the plan is for more open spaces and an overall more relaxing feel. It won’t be dull, though – we do know that she’ll feature the first-ever combination waterslide roller coaster with the Aqua Slidecoaster. Not just the first one at sea – the first attraction of its kind anywhere in the world.
These ships feature a unique attraction called “Norwegian Speedway, go-kart,” which allows guests to experience high-speed go kart racing at sea. Both the Norwegian Prima and the Norwegian Vivia are set to have roughly the same dimensions as well as guest capacities, with each ship able to accommodate around 3,000 guests.
